I am a licensed Mental Health Health Counselor based in New York City. I changed careers 4 years ago from a 10 year career in fashion design to become a therapist. My experience in a fast paced and stressful work environment has informed the work that I do now with professionals working in similar environments and together uncovering a sense of balance and safety amidst the chaos.
I've always been fascinated by how powerful our minds are and how freeing it can be to understand where our maladaptive coping skills originated from and how we can learn to do things differently when we are in enough pain. I believe we can work towards the changes we want to see and feel in our lives before it gets to an unbearable place, and we can do that together.
I take a very active approach in the room and draw from a variety of modalities to find the most supportive treatment for you as you advance towards where you want to be. I integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) along with mindfulness and awareness techniques.
I work well with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues and self-esteem. I am excellent at helping people develop coping skills, navigate relationship issues, and exploring anxiety, depression and meanings behind addictive behaviors.
